Aqaa Maulaa said that, “Ramazaan is in Qur’an and Qur’an is in Ramazaan”, which means in Surat ul Baqarah Allaah Ta’aala, refers to a holy month of Ramazaan in which the holy book Qur’an has been revealed in the night of Qadr i.e. 23rd night. The night of Qadr is the heart of Ramazaan as Qur’an is the heart of all heavenly books. Except Ramazaan no other month is mentioned in Qur’an in such a length along with its special characteristics. As Qur’an is the final book of Allaah, Ramazaan is the final days assigned by Allaah for His Rahmat, to seek Maghferat and to free oneself from the hell-fire.
The essence of Qur’an is incomplete without the recognition of the Maqaam of Maulaana Ali Ameer ul Mumineen (as). He is the Speaking Qur’an. He is the Partisans of Qur’an. In Ramazaan, he was martyred in the mehrab of Masjid e Kufah. Without the holy days of his martyrdom, the grace of Ramazaan gets faded and its greatness is diminished. The three things which we have discussed here, namely Maulaana Ali (as), Qur’an and Ramazaan stands in a same line where one is incomplete without others. All three of them are of great importance as far as our doctrines are concerned.
This is the month of Forgiveness, Equality, Patience and Brotherhood. We should always seek pardon from others for our mistakes and forgive others for the same. This way we can free ourselves from enmity and grudge. We can see equality among mumineen in masjid during offering Namaaz while standing in a Saff, whether he is a boss or a employee, all of them coming 4 times for different prayers. Fasting is the main pillar of this month. We refrain ourselves from food, drinks, sexual intercourse or bad actions from dawn to dusk. The other name of fasting of to keep patience and this is the best way to obtain Rahmat from Rabb ul-‘Izzat. The reward of patience is Paradise. After fasting, we do iftaari by inviting our friends and dear-ones to come together and take the grace of the bounties of Allaah. Taking food with our brothers and doing shukr-o-hamd of Allaah is the great sign of brotherhood and oneness. The brotherhood of Ramazaan is the brotherhood forever.
al-Khamsat ul-Athaar (as) have 5 ashaab, the word of Ramazaan have 5 letters, a single day have 5 time prayers, a mumin eats with his 5 fingers of right hand. There is a beautiful correlation between these 4 things. Each and every letter of Ramazaan carries barakaat and fayz of al-Khamsat ul-Athaar (as). Five times daily prayers stands because of the darajaat of al-Khamsat ul-Athaar (as). One cannot separate ‘Asr from Zohr as there is a relation between Maulaana ‘Ali (as) and Rasoolullaah (saws). Also ‘Ishaa il-Aakherat cannot be separated from Maghrib as there is the relation of Imaamat between Imaam Hasan (as) and Imaam Husain (as). A mumin takes his meal with his 5 fingers from the maa’edah-thaal. Maa’edah is the ne’mat bestowed upon mumineen due to the sunnat of al-Khamsat ul-Athaar (as). Ramazaan is the special month in which mumineen sit together in maa’edah for sehri as well as for iftaari. Rozadaar mumineen does shukr and hamd of Allaah Ta’aala as he is graced with Ramazaan, Namaaz, Maa’edah because of the rahmat of al-Khamsat ul-Athaar (as).
Allaah Ta’aala has ordered 3 Taa’aat-obedience in this auspicious Shahrullaah. It is related with 3 units of 10 days as Shahrullaah has complete 30 days without any addition or omission. The first 10 days is of Rahmat-e-Khudawandi and it is ordained in the first part of Shahrullaah tasbeeh, “Laa Ilaaha Illallaah”. The second 10 days is of Maghferat and the tasbeeh, “Astaghferullaah” suffice it. The last 10 days is of al-‘Itq minan Naar-freedom from the torment of hell and this is done by reciting “Allaahumma inni As’alokal Jannata wa ‘Aoozo beka minan Naar.” Thus Rahmat could be achieved by doing Itaa’at or comply with the orders of Allaah. Maghferat could be reached in following sunnats and hidaayaat of Rasoolullaah (saws) and his progeny. One could free oneself from the hell-fire by obeying wholeheartedly and submitting his soul and wealth to Imaam uz-Zamaan (as) and his deputy Da'i uz-Zamaan (tus). If this done with all its decrees then a mumin has a full right to celebrate ‘Eid and get its heavenly barakaat.
